POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position is a central focal point for providing leadership and direction to Keystone Quality department personnel and peers. The primary responsibilities are to develop and implement effective programs, processes goals and methods to ensure strict compliance with all FAA Regulatory requirements and Industry Quality standards, including ISO/AS9100 and ASQR initiatives; and to ensure that best in class products and services are provided to Keystone customers. SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Lead the development and implementation of Quality initiatives and measurements to continuously improve product quality and customer satisfaction for all of Keystone. 2. Ensure each FAA Certificate we possess (i.e. Part 145, Production Certificate, ODA, PMA and ODAR) is supported with adequate procedures and is properly staffed to perform all required Quality oversight functions, in strict compliance with FAR requirements. 3. Continually evaluate new approaches to Quality Assurance and Product Integrity used by Sikorsky, other UT entities, and industry at large, as a vehicle to both benchmark and improve Keystone's efforts. 4. Develop and implement regular quality audits and surveys, both internal and external, to gauge customer(`9s satisfaction with Keystone(`9s products and services. Develop metrics/measurements that provide visibility into process effectiveness and possess the ability to accomplish methodical root cause analysis to identify root cause and develop corrective action plans. 5. Ensuring ACE is implemented successful in order to improve enterprise performance. 6. Responsible for the following roles and responsibilities for the Quality Department: a. Provide leadership in the development of an effective internal program. b. Ensure timely and complete feedback is provided to all associates to improve their overall performance c. Ensure full compliance with UTC Code of Ethics and all applicable Policies. d. Assure proper safeguards are in place to comply with EH&S requirements. e. Assist in development and execution of a closed loop enterprise corrective action process. JOB REQUIREMENTS: The incumbent for this position should have an undergraduate degree in engineering or related technical discipline. A related graduate degree is highly desirable. Qualifications: In addition, the incumbent must have considerable operations experience at a senior level and experience in general management of a product line or department of significant size. The incumbent should also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and must have demonstrated ability to work effectively with associates at all levels throughout the Corporation. Finally, the incumbent must have a thorough knowledge of applicable FAA regulations, as well as industry quality standards, and a proven track record of successfully meeting these in a production environment. • 20 years of aviation/aerospace experience in either Repair Station FAR Part 145, or manufacturing experience in an FAR Part 21 environment (Experience in both environments preferred) • Five years experience managing a quality department of 50 or greater employees • ISO/AS9100 experience • Proficient in Office 2000 • Previous experience interacting directly with the Federal Aviation Administration • Previous experience with Six Sigma and Lean principles • Previous experience developing quality systems United Technologies Corporation is An Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lead all aspects of operations planning and cost reduction through successful management of Industrial Engineering and Sales & Operations planning. • Partner with Program resources and Purchasing to provide direction and priorities of tasks that support productivity gains and cost reduction strategies. • Interact and partner with other Sikorsky departments and UTC divisions representing Keystone Operations. • Provide data and analysis that supports savings commitments; standardization of processes, sharing of best practices and lessons learned. • Responsible for defining lean manufacturing processes allowing SGH to seamlessly execute aircraft final assembly and completions. • Coordinate the interface between Programs and other Sikorsky departments. • Create a seamless communication path between the departments. • Provide leadership and management overall cost reduction activities for all programs ensuring all requirements are met, performance measures are worked and issues are resolved.
